Hey there, I am Dimitris. Welcome to my corner of the web.
My full name is Dimitrios Alivanistos, PhD, and I am a Senior Data Scientist at Elsevier working on Life Sciences. My work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, knowledge graphs, and scientific discovery: how can machines help us represent, search for, and evaluate scientific hypotheses in ways that are useful to researchers?
I completed my PhD at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on knowledge graphs and transformers for hypothesis generation. Before and during that work, I spent time across life sciences, search, and transportation domains, moving between research questions and practical data science problems.
